Please email us at: bridgeportguns@yahoo.com to be put on our renewal schedule. We will continue to have RENEWAL ONLY classes in addition to our new applicant classes.

Class Includes
  • •Two photo’s
  • •In class instructions
  • •Written test, 50 questions multiple choice and true/false
  • •Range test, 50 rounds shot from 3, 7 and 15 yards.
  • •State mandated
–                     New applicant           10 hours       (8a.m.-  6p.m.) Lunch provided
–                     Renewal applicant      4 hours       (8a.m.-12a.m.)

(Deposits are non-transferable to other persons or future scheduled classes)

Class/Range Requirements
  • •Minimum caliber 32
  • •50 rounds of ammunition (may be purchased during class) NO RELOADS
  • •Eye protection (glasses or sun glass are fine)
  • •Ear protection (earplugs available for .50 cents)
  • •Notepad and ink pen 
  • •Drivers License

•Rental of Semi Auto Pistol         $40.00 (Includes 50 rounds of ammunition)

•We will qualify on the range the day of the class, weather permit, In the event of bad weather the range qualification will be rescheduled by appointment.

•If you qualify with a revolver you will be licensed to carry a revolver only.  If you qualify with a semiautomatic your license will allow you to carry either a revolver or semiautomatic.

  • •Handbook CHL -16 (copies at class for $10.00)
  • •Schedule electronic fingerprints with L-1 Enrollment Services.
Option 3 – Assistance from Bridgeport Guns & Ammo with online application process $20.00. Call (940) 683-1777 to schedule an appointment, (Cannot be done day of class)

Effective: March 1, 2011
The Texas DPS will ONLY accept electronic fingerprint submissions. At this time, the only state approved vendor is L-1 Enrollment Services (L-1).  You can schedule an appointment with L1 Services at (888)467-2080.  (No walk-ins will be accepted)
